Minnesota Kannada Shaale was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Kulkarni with a clear and heartfelt vision: to create a structured Kannada curriculum that schools could recognize, ensuring children receive meaningful credit for their hard work while strengthening their connection to our language. Their dream was to build a place where Kannada could be learned with pride, celebrated with joy, and passed on to the next generation with intention.
What began in 2021 as a small community of about 30 students and handful of teachers has grown into a thriving institution rooted in passion and volunteer spirit. The love people hold for Kannada became evident as community members stepped forward to teach, support, and build the foundation of what Kannada Shale is today.
We are proud to now serve over 140 students with the support of 30 dedicated volunteered teachers, each one a pillar of our mission. Even as we complete five years, the enthusiasm for teaching and learning only continues to grow stronger. Our classrooms are filled with curiosity, cultural pride, and a shared commitment to keeping Kannada alive in the hearts of our children.
Kannada Shaale stands today because of the vision of Mr. and Mrs. Kulkarni, and the unwavering dedication of our incredible teachers, students and families. Together, we are building a legacy—one child, one lesson, and one generation at a time.
